About our Founder

After her first discovery of fibroids in 2004, Aprile Futrell was not given any education or treatment options regarding them from her former medical professional. It wasn't until over ten years later and a health scare that required hospitalization, that she began to learn more about this common health ailment. As a result of that chapter of her life, Give. Glean. Grow. was born.

Give. Glean. Grow. provides education, resources, and tools to inform and empower conversations around uterine fibroids and women’s gynecological health..

The organization operates as a registered 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization and has been in existence since 2020.

The goal of the platform is to:

Encourage individuals to share their personal stories.
Provide resources and tools to help women and young girls navigate their gynecological health and wellness.
While we offer information and educational materials informed by medical experts, we strongly recommend that individuals consult their personal healthcare providers. Doing so ensures they receive professional guidance and a care plan that is precisely tailored to their unique needs.

The word GIVE is defined as freely transfer the possession of something to someone. On this platform, we want individuals to share their fibroid journey: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Sometimes we need to hear and know that we are not in this alone on this journey. And on this platform, individuals will be able to GLEAN and gather from others who share their stories (GIVE).
